How Customereye measures companies

Current catalogue figures on this page are measured when the page is built. The content standards section also includes a dated audit of our screening.

What the catalogue is

  • 82,619 visible companies
  • 54,023 ranked companies
  • 11,845,969 reviews analysed
  • 69 industries
  • 281 companies with an AI report

As of 31 Oct 2026.

What a company needs to be listed and to be ranked

A score is shown from 50 reviews; a company is ranked in its industry and listed in the A–Z directory only from 100 reviews. To be ranked and listed a company also needs an industry, an analysis row, reviews inside the last 12 months, and enough reviews in a supported language.

Visible companies currently excluded from ranking:

  • 21,953 — fewer than 100 reviews
  • 6,154 — no reviews in the last 12 months
  • 45 — too few reviews in a supported language
  • 0 — industry not yet classified
  • 0 — no score yet

The review window

Reviews are captured newest first up to a cap, so the captured set spans a period that depends on how fast a company collects reviews. A full window is marked ok, a window under six months is short and no trend is claimed for it, and a company with no review in the last 12 months is dormant.

  • 59,825 full window
  • 10,919 under six months
  • 10,627 no reviews in 12 months
  • 804 not yet assessed

A null status means the row predates the assessment; it is shown without a badge rather than treated as a failure.

Languages

English reviews are scored with VADER. German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch are scored with a multilingual model validated on this catalogue's own reviews. Every other language is left unscored on purpose, and sentiment figures are computed over scored reviews only — the scored share says how much of a company that is.

Language coverage is ok at 80% scored or more, partial at 50% or more, and insufficient below that.

  • 81,028 ok
  • 243 partial
  • 100 insufficient
  • 804 not yet assessed

Confidence bands

  • Under the 50-review floor — fewer than 50 reviews: 552 visible companies by review count alone
  • Limited confidence — 50 to 99 reviews, or a larger sample lowered for its spread: 21,401 visible companies by review count alone
  • Moderate confidence — 100 to 299 reviews, or 300 or more lowered for its spread: 56,825 visible companies by review count alone
  • High confidence — 300 reviews or more, covering six months or more with no month supplying half of them: 3,397 visible companies by review count alone

The score

A single number from 0 to 100 that sums up how happy this company's customers are. We combine two things: the star ratings customers gave, and an AI reading of the actual words in their reviews (since sometimes what people write tells a different story than their star rating alone). Higher is better — think of it like a report card grade for customer satisfaction.

Review counts

A company's review count is the number captured under the capture policy in force when it was scraped, not the company's lifetime total. Counts are comparable within a period of the catalogue and not across it, and they are not a measure of market size.

Industry benchmarks

Recommendations

Two rules read the review text itself:

  • the weakest topic when it sits below neutral
  • a declining sentiment trend

Four rules compare the company against its industry benchmark:

  • position against the industry quartiles
  • reply rate against the industry average
  • the strongest praise theme
  • rating and sentiment against the industry average

Each card is written only when its signal qualifies. The AI report is separate: on demand and paid.

Our social videos are produced the same way. Their background music is generated on our own servers with Stability AI's Stable Audio 3 model, used under the Stability AI Community License — Powered by Stability AI. Every track is listened to and approved by a person before a video uses it.

AI reports

A paid AI report is a one-time AI reading of a snapshot of the reviews CustomerEye holds for a company. It is separate from the free tabs, which are automated rule-based scoring recomputed every day.

Generation is not instant and usually finishes within about 10 minutes of payment. The report appears on the same AI Report tab of the company page, under the buyer's account. Nothing is emailed.

A finished report contains an executive summary, the fixes to make first, charts, what customers love and what they want fixed, recommendations, the voice of the customer, and the method behind the analysis.

If generation fails, the buyer is refunded to the original payment method automatically, usually within half an hour. It can take a few more days to show on the statement.

When we show nothing

  • A company with no rank shows why instead of a position.
  • No trend is claimed when the review window is under six months.
  • Sentiment is left out when too few reviews are in a supported language.
  • A missing recommendation card means no signal qualified, not that nothing is wrong.
  • No AI report means none has been requested for that company.

Content standards

Before a company is published, it must pass our usual rules — enough recent reviews and an industry — and a content screen.

The screen holds back businesses that:

  • sell fake reviews, followers or other engagement;
  • sell replica branded goods;
  • offer pirated TV or cracked software;
  • write essays or assignments for students;
  • sell steroids, research chemicals or prescription drugs without a prescription;
  • sell spyware for watching another person's phone;
  • offer "fund recovery" services; or
  • offer online casinos to Australians.

It also holds back a company when enough of its own recent reviews describe serious harm: for example, at least 15 reviews describing fraud that make up 30% or more of the reviews we read, or at least 15 describing orders that never arrived that make up 15% or more. In sensitive sectors such as gambling, lending, adult services and regulated products, a lower level of complaints is enough. These are reviewers' accounts; CustomerEye has not verified them.

A person decides every flagged case: the company is either published like any other or kept off the site. Nothing is deleted, so a decision can be revisited.

In our audit of 22-23 October 2026 we screened all 84,550 published companies; 4,621 were taken off the site for review (2,287 with a strong signal, 2,334 with a weaker one) and 79,929 remained published.

A removed company's page stays reachable and says the company is no longer listed. A company can ask for a re-check through the Contact page.
